The tale of martyrdom in the Battle of Badr is a very powerful and thrilling one, as it is the story of a father and his son giving their lives for Islam.

Description

In the year 2 AH, when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was going to Badr, two of his staunchest companions were in a dilemma. The already mentioned Khathima bin Harith (RA) and his son Saad bin Khathima (RA), both members of the midland tribe of the Ansar (Aws), were the ones.

The father and the son were very much resolved to join the battle alongside the Prophet ﷺ. The father, being the father of the son, wanted to stay back and look after the family, while the son asked for permission to go to the battleground along with the holy war fighters in the hope of attaining martyrdom and entering Heaven.

Finally, they decided to draw lots for it. Up came Saad bin Khathima’s (RA) name. He went to Badr full of good spirits. In the fight, he was very brave and was finally killed, thus fulfilling his burning wish for martyrdom.

In the year 3 AH, during the battle of Uhud, the father of Khathima bin Harith (RA) was moved by the same desire and went to fight. Allah also answered his prayer, and he was killed, thus being united with his son in Heaven.

 ۲ہجری میں رسول پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنے جاں نثاروں کے ساتھ غزوہ بدر کے لیے مد ینہ منورہ سے چلنے لگے تو آپ ﷺکے دو جاں

نثاروں کے درمیان عجیب قسم کی تکرار ہوگئی۔ ان دو جاں نثاروں کے نام خیثمہ بن حارث اور سعدبن خیثمہ تھے۔ خیثمہ رضی اللہ عنہ باپ

تھے اور سعد رضی اللہ عنہ بیٹے، دونوں کا تعلق مدینہ کے خاندان اوس سے تھا۔ تکرار اس بات پر ہورہی تھی کہ دونوں میں سے کون رسول

پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ کافروں سے لڑنے کے لیے جائے۔ باپ (حضرت خیثمہ رضی اللہ عنہ)بیٹے(حضرت سعد رضی اللہ عنہ)

سے کہہ ر ہے تھے۔

بیٹا! گھر میں ہم دونوں کے سوا کوئی مرد نہیں ہے، اس لیے بہتر یہ ہے کہ ہم دونوں میں سے ایک یہیں گھر میں رہے اور دوسرا جہاد میں

شریک ہو۔تم جوان ہو اور گھر کی اچھی طرح دیکھ بھال اور حفاظت کر سکتے ہو، اس لیے تم یہیں رہو اور مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ

وسلم کے ساتھ جہاد کے لیے جانے دو۔“

ان کے جواب میں بیٹے (حضرت سعد) والد سے کہہ رہے تھے:

”ابا جان! اگر شہادت اور شہادت کے بدلے میں جنت کے علاوہ کوئی اور معاملہ ہوتا تو مجھے گھر پر رہنے میں کوئی عذر نہ تھا۔ مجھے اللہ

تعالیٰ نے اتنی طاقت دی ہے کہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھی ہونے کا حق پوری طرح ادا کر سکوں۔ اس لیے آپ گھر پر رہیں

اور مجھے جہاد پر جانے کی اجازت دیجیے۔ شاید اللہ تعالیٰ مجھے شہادت نصیب فرمائے۔“

لیکن باپ کا اصرار تھا کہ بیٹا گھر پر رہے اور وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ جائیں۔ بڑی بحث اور تکرار کے بعد دونوں نے طے

کیا کہ قرعہ ڈالتے ہیں،جس کا نام قرعہ میں نکلے وہ لڑائی پر جائے اور دوسرا گھر پر رہے۔(ایک روایت یہ ہے کہ باپ حضرت خیثمہ نے

قرعہ ڈالنے کی تجویز پیش کی جسے بیٹے نے منظور کرلیا۔)

قرعہ ڈالا گیا تو بیٹے (حضرت سعد) کا نام نکلا۔ ان کواس قد رخوشی ہوئی کہ قدم زمین پر نہ ٹکتے تھے۔ والد بھی اب مجبور ہو گئے کہ گھر

پر رہیں اور بیٹے کو جہاد کے لیے رسول پاک صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ جانے دیں۔ چنانچہ حضرت سعد رضی اللہ عنہ رسول پاک صلی اللہ

علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ بدر پہنچ گئے۔

لڑائی شروع ہوئی تو حضرت سعد رضی اللہ عنہ اس جوش اور جذبے کے ساتھ لڑے کہ جانبازی کا حق ادا کر دیا۔ دشمن کے ایک سوار نے ان

کو اس طرح بے جگری سے لڑتے دیکھا تو اس نے تاک کر ان پر حملہ کیا۔ انھوں نے ڈٹ کر مقابلہ کیا لیکن دشمن گھوڑے پر سوار تھا، اس کا

وار کارگر ہو گیا اور وہ شہید ہو کر جنت میں پہنچ گئے۔ اس طرح اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کی دلی آرزو پوری کر دی۔

۳ ہجری میں غزوہ احد پیش آیا تو شہید بدر حضرت سعد کے والد حضرت خیثمہ بن حارث رضی اللہ عنہ شہادت کی تمنا دل میں لیے اس میں

شریک ہوئے اور بڑی بہادری سے لڑے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کی تمنا بھی پوری کر دی اور وہ ایک کافر ہبیرہ بن ابی وہب کے ہاتھ سے شہید ہو کر

جنت میں پہنچ گئے۔

If the heart is rich in faith, then even the end of earthly life gets transformed into a passage to immortal life.
